About the Role

Position Title: PR and Social Media Manager

Location: Virtual, remote role - meet 4 x per year, mostly in London, UK. Candidates must be based in the UK.

Reports To: Head of SEO/Search and Client Services Director

Work alongside: SEO/Search team, Content team, and CRO specialists

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.

Position Overview

We're looking for a strategic, ambitious and proactive PR and Social Media Manager to join our growing team.

This virtual role is ideal for a professional who can develop and execute exciting, forward-thinking integrated PR and social media strategies that drive brand awareness, engagement, website traffic, and high-quality backlinks, all in support of our clients' website goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Campaign Management

  • Develop and execute integrated PR and social media strategies aligned with client objectives

  • Collaborate with SEO strategists to ensure campaigns support organic growth targets

  • Identify opportunities for brand storytelling that resonate with target audiences and support link-building efforts

PR Management

  • Conduct backlink portfolio audits to inform PR strategies

  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, and media contacts

  • Craft compelling press releases, pitches, and content that earn media coverage and backlinks

  • Monitor media coverage and report on PR performance metrics

Social Media Management

  • Manage and grow clients’ social media presence across relevant platforms

  • Create and schedule engaging content that aligns with brand voice and SEO strategies

  • Monitor social media channels for engagement opportunities and respond appropriately

  • Analyse social media performance and adjust strategies to improve results

Reporting & Analysis

  • Use tools like GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, BrandWatch, Sprout Social and Looker Studio to track and report on PR and social media KPIs

  • Provide monthly performance reports with insights and clear recommendations

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate best practices into strategies

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in PR and social media, preferably within an agency or retail setting

  • Strong understanding of how PR and social media support SEO objectives

  • Proficiency in tools such as BuzzSumo, Brandwatch, and social media management platforms

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with a team

Working Set-Up and Hours

  • Either 4 days a week (30 hours per week) or full-time role (37.5 hours per week)

  • Flexi-time between 8am to 8pm, as long as you serve clients and your team members with an excellent service and in a professional manner

  • Completely remote, excluding 4 x mandatory team meet ups each year

  • Occasional travel for conferences, training, and meetings

  • Good WiFi connection is essential

  • Camera-always-on rule for video meetings, therefore ‘backdrop’ and video presentation skills must be of a high quality (support can be provided in this area if needed)
