Position Title: Mid-level Copywriter
Location: Virtual, remote role – meet 4 x per year, mostly in London, UK. Candidates must be based in the UK.
Reports To: Head of SEO/Search and Client Services Director.
Work alongside: SEO strategists, content creators, PR team, link builders and account leads
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
We’re looking for a confident, skilled writer with at least 5 years’ experience - ideally in an agency environment - who can produce content that’s both beautifully written and performance-driven. Monday Clicks is a fast-growing agency with an ambition to be known for turning websites into lead and sales-generating machines. After all, our clients are with us to grow their businesses, and unless we can prove our ROI then we’re just wasting their money!
HQ is based in Newbury, Berkshire, however the rest of the 10-strong team are spread across the south of the UK all the way from Bournemouth to Bristol. Location does not matter, but mandatory quarterly team meets tend to be in the South, such as London and Brighton, therefore candidates have to be willing to travel to these locations.
Write SEO-optimised, long and short-form blog posts that align with keyword strategy and client goals
Craft SEO-friendly website copy, product landing pages, and eCommerce product descriptions
Develop brand guidelines and tone of voice documents that capture and reflect brand identity
Create engaging social media posts tailored to channel and audience
Write PR articles, media stories, and content for link-building purposes
Work closely with SEO and content teams to ensure all copy supports search performance
Support the Head of Content with planning and briefing content for client campaigns
Participate in ideation sessions, content strategy discussions, and pitch creative angles
Proofread and edit your own work and others’ to maintain a consistently high standard
Ensure all content adheres to brand tone of voice and is grammatically flawless
Check and enhance AI-generated drafts, ensuring all content meets human-first quality standards
Join client calls and discovery sessions to understand tone, objectives, and positioning
Present content confidently and receive feedback constructively
Communicate directly with clients as needed on content-related projects or amends
Use AI tools to enhance efficiency (e.g., for ideation, first drafts, rewording, etc.)
Understand when and how to use AI ethically and effectively - never relying on it to replace quality writing
5+ years of copywriting experience, ideally within an agency setting
Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and how to write content that ranks
Ability to switch tone for different audiences and sectors, including B2B and B2C
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Familiarity with tools like Surfer SEO, Clearscope, Grammarly, ChatGPT, Jasper, etc.
Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
Confident communicator who’s happy to engage with clients when needed
Experience writing for retail, lifestyle, and e-commerce brands
An eye for layout and UX best practices relating to on-page copy
Ability to brief designers and understand how copy integrates with visuals
A personal writing portfolio, blog, or active LinkedIn presence
Either 4 days a week (30 hours per week) or full-time role (37.5 hours per week)
Flexi-time between 8am–8pm, focused on great client service and teamwork
Remote first – with 4 x team meet-ups per year in the South (e.g. London, Brighton)
Occasional travel for conferences, training, and client meetings
Strong WiFi and “camera-on” etiquette for virtual meetings (support can be provided)
