How did you get into digital marketing?
After working in the hospitality industry for 15 years running my own gastro pubs with my partner, I wanted a career that would work around my young children.
My time running the pubs involved all aspects of business including marketing and bookkeeping which I really enjoyed, so using digital marketing to start my own business made sense. I initially launched a business, partnering with a British PLC, to help people save money on their household bills. Much of this was done through digital marketing and social media, and I even started a networking group for Mums in Business, which again was run through social media.
Since then I've also launched a local magazine and website that showcases small businesses to inspire people within the community to shop with businesses on their doorstep. The aim of the website is to help business owners with their own SEO efforts - we rank their brands locally and also acquire backlinks for them to ensure they get the web traffic they deserve.
I was delighted to be asked to join the Monday Clicks SEO team – my role uses all of my organisational, business and marketing skills, and it's extremely stimulating to be in such a progressive environment!
What’s the best thing about your job?
Flexibility. It's a fully remote agency that allows you to complete client work in your own time. I truly believe that businesses who offer flexibility get the best out of their team.
Is there a highlight in your career so far?
With all the various roles I have undertaken this is a really tricky one to answer, but mentoring a lady in her new business to earn enough money for urgent private medical procedure within 6 weeks is certainly at the top for me.
What's your favourite aspect about working at Monday Clicks?
I am always inspired by visionary businesses, where challenges are overcome and there is continuous progression. At Monday Clicks we do things properly, with pride and integrity. That, as well as the rest of the fabulous team, makes the team a pleasure to be a part of.
